DERBY EVE GALA BACKGROUND
Louisville’s most elegant Derby event for entertaining is the Derby Eve Gala, originated and organized by Joyce King Jennings and introduced into the Kentucky Derby scene in 1995. The 2008 gala will be held on Friday, May 2 in Medallion Ballroom of the beautiful and historic Seelbach Hilton Hotel.
Ms. Jennings, president of JKJ, Inc., has over 25 years of experience in party planning, with an emphasis on charitable events. Thirteen years ago, she recognized a need in the slate of Derby festivities for a Derby Eve soirée specifically designed for corporate entertaining. Her concept was to offer a posh event in an elegant setting, with fabulous food, lavish décor and spectacular, electrifying entertainment. From year one, the plan was a tremendous success. The Derby Eve Gala has hosted corporate VIP’s and dignitaries from all over the world. It is the most impressive party for hosting Derby guests in elegance and style – the perfect opportunity for companies to entertain friends or impress clients, while linking their names with a first class, stellar event! Tables of ten may be reserved for $3,000.
In addition to corporate attendees, the gala attracts many individual couples and groups from all across the country. Individual reservations may be made for $300 per person.
For the eleventh straight year, proceeds from the gala will benefit the American Lung Association in support programs to fight lung disease, including our special camps for children with asthma.
